Terminology I must use:
layout – e.g. any distinctive use of layout, the proportion of space, image and copy,the use of cluttered or ordered layout, the use of symmetrical and asymmetrical layout, house style
typography – e.g. serif and sans-serif typefaces, specialist typefaces, bold, italics
colour – e.g. colour tones, colour saturation, house style
images – e.g. graphics, camerawork and mise-en-scène in photography, digital manipulation
use of language – e.g. formal and informal registers, direct mode of address, puns, colloquialisms, slang
How the magazine uses the advantages of print technology – e.g. colour saturation,
glossy presentation, detailed copy (writing)
Generic conventions of music magazines – e.g. front cover dominated by images of musicians, style of the magazine reflects the genre of music, the magazine assumes and addresses the audiences’ fandom
Use of intertextuality in music magazines – e.g. references to other media products.

- +psychedelic references with the colour.
- +No people of colour (1965 racism.... audience may have not wanted to go to see a band of colour in concert.
- + pink colour in sex pistols mag, or purple in pink floyd.... bending gender roles.... also the long hair...... could be suggesting subjects regarding the lGBT community(?)
- +Patti smith.... only female artist on the mag. We've stereotyped her as male since the males in pink floyd also have long hair... this is showing fluidity in gender expression. However, the image of her is still really small... suggesting that women are inferior in the rock genre.
